Week 26a (22 - 28 June): Reflections on the Youth and Young Adults Mission Trip (Part I)

Going on this trip, I kept my expectations open, as the itinerary was curated to engage our youths and young adults. What unfolded over the next few days was a beautiful testament to a living and active faith.

Vibrant and Soulful Worship

The spiritual atmosphere in Pontianak has such vitality and I witnessed a vibrant, energy-packed, and deeply soulful approach to prayer, praise, and worship. The youths did not just participate; they poured their hearts out to God. This passionate expression of faith showed a deep hunger for God's presence that revitalised everyone in attendance. During our second night of worship, I sensed the fragrance of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit very strongly in our midst. The ministry time was unforgettable. We were so blessed by the high-energy, Spirit-led worship through song and dance. It was amazing to see our youth and the entire team drop their inhibitions, relax, and freely worship God together. The church is on fire for God!

Impactful Ministry and Preaching

The sermons delivered by our Pastors and Young Adults were exceptionally impactful. They spoke directly to the challenges, and aspirations of the next generation. The messages were shared with such honesty and relevance, they resonated deeply with our young participants, sparking meaningful reflection and a change of their hearts.

Witnessing the power of healing led by Ps Ronnie with our youth and young adults was a massive highlight. It was powerful and a moving experience, witnessing the next generations live out their faith.

Seeing our youths lead, pray, and respond with such intensity proves that the future of the church is bright, passionate, and deeply rooted in God's love. GBI Rock Church's Vision sums it up nicely: Worship, Generation and Community.

Our hosts, Pastor Simon and his wife Pastor Nova, with their church family took such wonderful care of us and we felt so loved and at home. We are so thankful for their incredible hospitality creating a beautiful environment for our team to encounter God.

Personally, as the Holy Spirit led, I gained a new level of confidence and boldness to pray for others—a breakthrough for me ! I had a truly transformative, spirit-filled trip!

Ultimately, this trip was less about what we came to give, but more about what God chose to do within us. We love because He first loved us.
